Headteacher’s Blog September 2026
Dear Parents, Carers and Members of our HPRS Community,
As we begin a new academic year I would like to extend a very warm welcome to all our students, families and staff. It has been wonderful to see our centres filled with energy, enthusiasm and excitement once again as we start the Autumn Term together.
A special welcome goes to our new students and families who have joined HPRS this year. We hope you are already beginning to feel part of our supportive and inclusive school community. Starting at a new school can be both exciting and challenging, and we are committed to ensuring that every child settles quickly, feels valued and achieves success.
A Positive Start
The term has begun exceptionally well, with students returning ready to learn and eager to embrace new opportunities. Walking around the centres I have been impressed by the positive attitudes, excellent behaviour and engagement in learning that our students have demonstrated. These high expectations are central to our vision for HPRS and help create an environment where every child can thrive and achieve.
Our staff work incredibly hard to prepare exciting learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom and it has been fantastic to see students already immersed in their new learning and challenges.
Attendance Matters
One of our key priorities this year continues to be attendance. Every lesson counts and regular attendance has a significant impact on academic achievement, wellbeing and future opportunities. We are grateful for the support of parents and carers in ensuring that children attend school every day and arrive punctually.
Together, we can ensure that every student maximises their potential by being present, engaged and ready to learn.
Enrichment and Opportunities
At HPRS we believe that some of the most impactful learning experiences occur beyond the classroom. Throughout the Autumn Term students will have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of enrichment activities, including educational visits, sporting events and outdoor education programmes alongside many other exciting experiences. Students will also be encouraged to develop their leadership skills through the nomination and appointment of Head Girl and Head Boy at each centre fostering confidence, responsibility, teamwork and personal resilience.
These experiences play an important role in developing students’ confidence, independence and resilience, while creating lasting memories and broadening their horizons. We encourage all students to embrace the opportunities available, step outside their comfort zones and challenge themselves to try something new.
Working in Partnership
The success of our students is built on the strong partnership between school and home. We value the support, encouragement and engagement of our families and look forward to working closely with you throughout the year. Open communication remains extremely important and we encourage you to contact us whenever you need support or guidance.
Working in partnership with families is central to our approach, our Family Support Worker is available to work closely with pupils and their parents/carers where needed, offering tailored support, advice and encouragement to help young people thrive both in school and at home.
Looking Ahead
The Autumn Term is always a busy and exciting time, filled with opportunities for learning, growth and achievement. I am confident that, by working together and maintaining our shared commitment to excellence we will continue to provide the very best experiences for all students at HPRS.
