Science

Keeping science relevant to everyday life is a crucial part of helping our pupils engage in, and understand, the science curriculum. As an example, topics such as diet, exercise, drug and sex education are all considered when studying the various organs in the body.

Teaching is reinforced through practical, hands on investigations. Off-site visits, documentaries, DVD clips and a great deal of discussion are used to enrich and extend pupils’ knowledge. Small class sizes provide the opportunity to focus on individual learning styles and needs.

At Key Stage 4, pupils can gain opt to achieve a GCSE in Biology. For pupils who require it, we are also able to offer Combined Science GCSE through an online tutoring service, TUTE.
